We currently have the following permanent Career Opportunities
Co-Ordinator in Gheel. You will work across the Outreach Teams which
are located in North Kildare and Greater Dublin. As we have bases
across the service, the successful candidates can choose to be located
in a hub/office nearest their home, however, travel across the service
will be required. This is an exciting opportunity for the right

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES CO-ORDINATOR ? ORGANISATION WIDE

As part of the Outreach Team, the successful candidate will lead the
assessment of participants, identify educational and vocational goals
in addition to training needs. The post holder will also arrange
relevant work experience, work placements and sustainable employment
opportunities. The Career Opportunities Co-ordinator will manage all
placements and ensure that participants are fully integrated into the
workplace.

THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE
FOLLOWING:

* Support participants to explore their individual career goals in
line with their aspirations, interests, skills and abilities.
* Develop a strategy and action plan that ensures that people
supported have developed career objectives and individualised support
plans to enable them to achieve those objectives.
* Conduct all relevant assessment of participant interests, skills,
qualifications, motivation and support needs.
* Support participants to develop their individual vocational
profile and career progression plan.
* Work with all the members of Outreach Transition teams in drawing
up and delivering training and development activities relevant to
participant needs.
* Conduct all relevant assessments of the workplace prior to job
start, including job profiling and task analysis.
* Develop a job profile that is compatible with employer needs and
takes into account the participant interests, skills and abilities.
* Prepare detailed task analysis and identify vocational goals that
will feed into participant training and development plans.
* Assist participants to learn and carry out tasks to the
specifications outlined in job profiles and assess the participant?s
ability to function independently within the work environment.
* Support participants to integrate fully into the workplace and to
develop natural supports with co-workers towards full inclusion.
* Assist participants to learn the specific requirements and duties
of the job as well as other work-related activities such as time
keeping and attendance.
* Identify any training needs required to maintain employment e.g.
travel, social, task performance, etc.
* Monitor and evaluate participant performance and development
within the work place and ensure progression by providing continued
appropriate support.
* Following a positive progression into a placement or paid
employment, remain in appropriate contact with both the employer and
participant to maximise sustainability.
* Liaise with parents, carers, employers, training staff, where
appropriate, in respect of supporting participants.
* Proactive involvement with relevant local stakeholders such as
Local Education & Training Boards, Further / Higher Education &
Training providers, local INTREO offices, Chambers of Commerce,
Employment Partnership Groups, Local Authorities, etc.
* Represent Gheel Autism Services CLG_ _in a professional manner and
to operate within its policies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Career Opportunities Co-ordinator reports directly to the Regional
Manager, Outreach Services.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POST:

* Third level Qualification in Social Care, Psychology (level 8) or
degree in Training or Education in Supported Employment
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and use of
internet and email
* Hold a valid driver?s licence and have access to their own
vehicle

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

* Two years? experience supporting marginalized people into paid
employment
* Experience working with employers and marginalised job seekers to
create viable career pathways.
* Experience supporting adults with ASD/Intellectual Disabilities
and/or mental health difficulties
* Excellent presentation, verbal and communication skills.

SALARY SCALE: Successful candidates will be paid in line with **Apply
on the website** HSE revised consolidated Grade VI Clerical pay scale

LSI; ? **Apply on the website**,**Apply on the website** per annum
based on working a **Apply on the website**-hour week. There are

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

* The salary scale for the post is aligned to the Department of
Health and Children Clerical Grade VI (**Apply on the

high degree of flexibility built in to facilitate service needs.
