Sl? Eile: Chief Operations Officer
SL? EILE HAS A VACANCY FOR A CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Sl? Eile is a charity that works to help people who have experienced
significant mental health challenges to recover and to rebuild their
lives. We work in three distinctive ways. Firstly, we give people an
experience of community living, through which they get social support
and opportunities to develop important life-skills in a context of
shared communal responsibility. Secondly, we engage people in two
significant social enterprises, an organic farm and a bakery, in which
they get experience of operating in the real world of work. Finally,
we offer people a type of life coaching, which enables them to clarify
and to actively pursue their respective visions for a good life beyond
Sli Eile.

Based in Churchtown, North Co. Cork, Sl? Eile operates through two
sister companies: Sli Eile Housing Association CLG and Sl? Eile
Support Services CLG. The Housing Association provides tenancies for
people who are undertaking programmes at Sl? Eile and the Support
Services deliver a range of supports to promote the tenants? ongoing
recovery and progression. Sl? Eile operates through a small team of
**Apply on the website** staff and with the support of a group of
committed volunteers. It is majority-funded by the HSE.

Following a review of staff leadership within Sl? Eile, a
restructuring is now taking place that will see the division of the
current Chief Executive Officer position into two new positions. The
soon-to-be-appointed Chief Operations Officer (COO) will carry overall
management responsibility for the delivery of Sl? Eile?s
operational programmes, while the current CEO will continue to provide
practice guidance to the organisation and personal progression
coaching to tenants and former-tenants in a non-managerial role as
Mental Health Recovery Practice Guide.

The COO will work within a strategy framework determined by the Board
to achieve the organisation?s strategic objectives. S/he will lead
Sl? Eile?s Management Team, which comprises the Tenant Facilitation
Programme Manager, the Enterprises and Estates Manager, and the
Administrator. The core functions of the COO will be human resource
management, financial management, infrastructure management, and
administrative management. The COO will also ensure legal, regulatory,
and contractual compliance.

All staff at Sl? Eile are full members of the Sl? Eile community and
share with the tenants and the volunteers a responsibility for
upholding the community?s wellbeing. As Sl? Eile?s most senior
manager, the COO will model a kind of ?servant leadership? that
honours and enhances the capacity of every other member of the
community.

SUITABLE CANDIDATES FOR THE COO POSITION WILL BRING:

* Relevant operational management experience (HR, finance,
infrastructure, administration).
* Excellent communication skills (day-to-day correspondence,
report-writing, speaking, conversing, presenting, representing).
