The Director of the European Data Protection Program is a critical
part of Facebook&#**Apply on the website**;s Central Privacy Program
and oversight responsibilities. Our Central Privacy Program team is
chartered to ensure that we are meeting our internal standards,
regulatory obligations and is an industry leading program, globally.
The European Data Protection Program, which is part of the Central
Privacy Program, is chartered to operate, manage and monitor General
Data Protection Program (GDPR) relevant processes to ensure regulatory
compliance. The Director of the European Data Protection Program is
responsible for building and scaling the European Data Protection
Program team, and integrating the Program into the Central Privacy
Program. This role helps support Facebook&#**Apply on the website**;s
mission to honor people&#**Apply on the website**;s privacy in
everything Facebook does. A successful candidate will work with
cross-functional partners and within the privacy organization to align
resources and ensure the GDPR regulation is well integrated and fully
supported throughout the Central Privacy Program and across the
Company&#**Apply on the website**;s cross-functional teams. The
Director of the European Data Protection Program is responsible for
managing and working with FB Ireland (FIRL) and the Office of Data
Protection Officer (ODPO) to ensure the data privacy needs are met in
Europe and integrated within the Central Privacy Program.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated scaled organizational
leadership capabilities, a passion for driving program impact through
operational excellence and rigor, experience navigating complex
regulatory constraints, and a collaborative and positive attitude.

* Build and lead a high-performing team, including mentoring and
developing the team.
* Establish, communicate and implement a strategic vision and plan
for European Data Protection Program in Europe.
* Operate the European Data Protection Program and balance the
near-term regulatory requirement(s) execution and long-term privacy
roadmap.
* Represent Central Privacy Program and manage relationships within
Product, Legal, FIRL, and the ODPO.
* Develop and drive a closed feedback loop between Facebook Inc.,
FIRL and ODPO to help improve their program effectiveness and drive
efficiencies across organizations.
* Have working knowledge and ability to quickly learn the
requirements of various EU laws, regulations, industry guidance, and
company compliance policies, particularly related to user privacy.
* Track and guide EU Privacy issues and partner with FIRL, FB Inc.
and ODPO teams to ensure follow-up and resolution of open issues.
* Participate in FIL Decision Steering Group as a key member and
oversee the Decision Management process.
* Make appropriate tradeoffs between throughput and rigor and
quality.
* Prioritize work and allocate staffing accordingly.
* Thrive in high-stakes, high-complexity situations.
* Define and report out on operating metrics and performance to
Facebook Inc., FIRL and ODPO.
* Prepare communication materials and progress tracking for multiple
audiences including leadership from privacy, legal and policy teams.

operational levels.
* Experience or familiarity with privacy, legal or policy frameworks
or operations.
* Experience managing people and building teams.

in complex high-profile situations.
* Experience in driving and managing multiple projects under
timelines and shifting priorities
* Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of
management, both internally and externally.
* Proven consensus building and collaboration skills in
cross-functional and cross-organizational initiatives.
* Experience communicating and influencing decisions at the
executive level.
* Experience driving strategy and end-to-end implementation of
projects, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
* Experience challenging the status quo to ensure we develop highly
efficient and operational workflows and engagement models.

* Advanced Degree, MBA, or Law Degree
* Experience working with or in support of diverse communities or
working in companies with global customer/user base.
