Joist Designer
Euro Executive Recruitment has been retained to recruit a Joist
Designer for a leading manufacturing company based in Longford or
Arklow. Reporting to the Head of Timber Frame, the successful
candidate will be responsible for the design of Metal Web Joists for
residential buildings, timber frame and concrete build structures
while working closely with the client, client representatives and
internal production team.
Responsibilities:
* Estimating: Complete Joist design layout and quotation from
enquiries and existing customers
* Enquiry Call Backs: Complete follow up phone calls/correspondence on
quotations issued to win the contract
* Design: Using dimensions from site or from architect&#**Apply on the
website**;s plans design the joist layout for client approval for
manufacture.
* Manufacture: Creating accurate production drawings and site issue
drawings.
* Prepare material schedules, providing technical specialist
information where required.
* Liaising with client design team in relation to live projects
* Assist in general day to day running of the design office.
* Liaising with the estimating team in the production of estimates,
coordinating and distributing design information to the production
coordinator.
* Manage all technical questions and queries from internal and
external stakeholders.
* Coordinate and manage all design amendments in line with
construction drawings, legislative requirements and customer
specifications.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Residential Construction experience
* Proficient in AutoCAD software.
* Ability to read and understand architectural/engineering drawings.
* Experience of timber engineering software - Wolf Systems, MiTek, ITW
Alpine or Gangnail software
* Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Strong analytic/problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
* Dependable, flexible
* Strong technical understanding of Timber Frame design, manufacture
and supply.
* Flexible approach to working.
