Front Line Defenders: Communications Associate

content created on a daily basis (averaging 2 Urgent Appeals per day),
including developing occasional blogs with fellow staff members and
HRDs;
* managing the Front Line Defenders social media accounts to promote
FLD content, engage with other HRDs and organizations and their
initiatives, and to promote FLD events; the primary platforms the
organisation uses are Facebook, Twitter and Instagram;
* producing episodes for the podcast on a regular basis (exact
production schedule TBD).

The Communications Associate will liaise with a number of other staff
at FLD on different areas of work, including the Events & Promotions
Coordinator (on events), the regional protection fellows and the Frank
Jennings Fellow (on daily cases), the Head of the Memorial Project,
the Head of the EU Office, and occasionally with the Executive
Director and Deputy Director.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN A NUMBER OF
THESE AREAS (NOT NECESSARILY ALL):

* website development, social media tools and trends, web analytics
and Search Engine Optimization (SEO);
* producing multimedia content (video, audio, infographics, etc.);
* experience with interviewing for publication (either in print,
radio or video) and/or experience in producing a podcast
* familiarity with human rights media landscape globally;
* familiarity with web design and communications principles, as well
as strong editorial skills and experience;
* ability to track and monitor impact of media coverage and advocacy
related to reports and other visibility projects.

Willingness and desire to listen, learn, and be responsive to the
visibility and protection needs of human rights defenders working on a
diverse issues is a must.

The Communications Associate position requires the successful
applicant to be based at the organisation?s headquarters in
Blackrock, Dublin.1
