POSITION: CREATIVE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

YOUNG SOCIAL INNOVATORS

Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a not for profit education body which
provides transformative innovation processes and programmes for
students primarily at post primary level in Ireland. Through YSI,
educators, schools and communities facilitate and support youth led
social innovation which benefits the development of youth and
communities. This education empowers and strengthens youth voice and
participation and develops active local and global citizens for today
and into the future.

THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Creative
Instructional Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will
be responsible for the conceptualisation and creation of digital
learning content to support YSI?s education programme delivery and
online course development in line with YSI?s Digital Strategy. We
are looking for someone adept in the translation of education content
into engaging digital formats for online delivery.

Cross-cutting education and communications functions within the
organisation, the Creative Instructional Designer will also use their
strong design and multi-media skills to help create engaging
storytelling content and digital materials to support the
organisation?s marketing, PR and Public Affairs activities. This is
a varied and busy role and offers the right candidate an exciting
opportunity to be at the forefront of driving a culture of digital
excellence in education while creating social impact in communities in
Ireland and beyond.

YSI is looking for someone who will embody our passion and drive to
make social innovation learning the norm for all students in Ireland.
You will have a breath of experience in developing and delivering
engaging and creative content to learners.

THE PERSON

CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION: The Creative Instructional Designer will
have a bias for design, conceptual, innovative and critical thinking,
with a strong appreciation for creative processes, and how to activate
messaging to engage your audience. You will leverage your previous
learning, visual communications and graphic content experience and be
able to adapt it to digitally native youths.

COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK: As YSI?s champion for digital excellence
in education, you will be required to assimilate and synthesize our
key educational and engagement objectives to stimulate learning and a
call to action. You will be a collaborative team player who will build
relationships easily across teams and hold excellent verbal and
written communication and presentation skills.

FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATILITY: The Creative Instructional Designer will
be required to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines,
working within a small and nimble cross-functional team, to deliver
visual content across multiple on-line and print materials. It will be
expected that you will be able to operate with agility, accountability
and be receptive and open to new ideas.

REQUIRED SKILLS

* A degree or level 9 equivalent (In accordance with the National
Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)) in a relevant discipline is
preferred such as Instructional Design, E-Learning, Technology
Enhanced Learning or equivalent
* Proficient in and ability to use instructional design development
approaches such as ADDIE, the Kemp instructional design model and/or
Gagne's nine events of instruction model
* Proficient in content design and authoring tools such as Moodle,
H5P, Adobe Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Audacity or similar.
* Young Social Innovators is committed to standards of excellence in
Child Protection practices. The role of Creative Instructional
Designer will require the candidate to successfully complete the Garda
Vetting process, which will be co-ordinated by Young Social
Innovators.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

CONCEPTUALISE AND PRODUCE ENGAGING LEARNING CONTENT FOR EDUCATORS AND
YOUTH

* Create programme structure and content for instructional learning
and design
* Create engaging learning materials and course content to enhance
learning process and achieve learning outcomes
* Develop instructional videos for existing online programmes
(Senior, Junior, Innovate for Wellbeing and IAP)
* Develop educator resource materials
* Create new digital tools and activities to support online
programme delivery and student engagement
* Partner with in-house education teams to identify target audience
training need
* Create supporting online materials / media using a variety of
mediums (audio, video, simulations, games) for digital learning
engagement

DESIGN AND DELIVER VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS CONTENT TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY
AND PARTNER MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT

* Develop visual instructional graphics for programmes, marketing
material and online content
* Create engaging resources and content to enhance participant
engagement and learning
* Develop online content to support recruitment of schools and
partners
* Support production of graphics / infographics / video / podcasts
to promote YSI across social, online and direct marketing channels
* Produce GenZ Index report in an engaging digital format
* Produce digital promotional packages for potential / existing
sponsor partners
