PROGRAM OFFICER

Irish Girl Guides (IGG) is recruiting a Program Officer to ensure the
effectiveness of a dynamic nationwide youth?organisation. This role
is a temporary position but may be extended.

The Irish Girl Guides? mission is to enable girls and young women to
develop to their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the
world. This is achieved by the volunteer leaders running a non-formal
educational?programme?with **Apply on the website** plus units
across all counties in the Republic of Ireland. The?organisation?has
charitable status and works to ensure it is compliant with all
relevant legislation and codes of good practice. The?organisation?is
led by a board of volunteers and the Program Officer will work closely
with the Operations manager, CEO, staff and volunteers to ensure all
regulatory and statutory obligations are met. The job will include
responsibility for supporting the development, implementation and
evaluation of activities in line with the IGG Journey Program and
feeding into the operational plan. The role will involve key working
with volunteer committees to develop evaluation and impact measurement
strategies. The Program Officer will report to the Operations Manager
and be a member of volunteer-led committees.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

* To support IGG in outcome measurement and recording impact of the
work complete by volunteers
* To develop programme resources with committees and stakeholders to
ensure badge content remains current and up to date
* To support delivery and implementation of IGG?s programme of
work with Leaders and Trainers
* To be responsible for the programme content of Online Guide
Manager and the Website and promoting the use of this with Volunteer
leaders.

CONDITIONS

This position initially, will be for a period of **Apply on the
website** months with a 6 month probationary period. The annual salary

contract will be for 3 days per week but availability in the evenings
and weekends will be required. Time in lieu will be granted on these
occurrences. Annual leave is **Apply on the website**.5 days per
annum. National Office is the primary location for this position.
Currently the National Office is in Donnybrook, Dublin 4 but will move
to Tallaght, Dublin **Apply on the website** within **Apply on the

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Experience of working in the voluntary, community or relevant
sector
* A proven ability plan, implement and evaluate programme
activities.
* Experience of volunteering and/or working with volunteers
* A track record in developing and maintaining positive
relationships with stakeholders
* A relevant third level or professional qualification

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise effectively
and confidently
* Strong?organisational?skills and time management
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative, as well as
integrating with a team?and adding value

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with volunteer committees to develop programme resources and
badges for our members
* Update all programme elements on OGM including badge content,
activities and appropriate links
* Provide practical advice and support to IGG?s volunteer leaders
in relation to programme
* With the Communications Officer, track the impact of IGG?s
programme and ensure appropriate records of evidence are maintained
and recorded in line with funding reporting requirements.

Work?with?the?national?volunteer?committees?on?the?implementation,?monitoring?and
evaluation of all programmes.
* Monitor and review the health promotion of IGG ensuring the
organisation fulfills the Q health Mark in conjunction with the
relevant committee.
* Develop a close working relationship with the programme and
Training committees and ensure a smooth?working relationship between
staff and?volunteers.
* Attend events/meetings/conferences as?required
* Provide support to IGG?Leaders and Trainers?as required

OTHER DUTIES

* To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the
CEO/Operations Manager from time?to?time that may be required to
support the wider IGG staff Team.
