POSITION TITLE: COMMUNICATIONS & FUNDRAISING OFFICER

REPORTS TO: COMMUNICATIONS & FUNDRAISING MANAGER

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE (DUN LAOGHAIRE, CO. DUBLIN)

Mental Health Ireland (MHI) is a national voluntary organisation with
a network of Mental Health Associations (MHAs) active throughout the
country. Mental Health Ireland aims to promote positive mental health
through education, training and awareness raising and to support
persons who experience mental health difficulties, their families and
significant others through the activities of Mental Health
Associations? and national advocacy.

POSITION SUMMARY

Working with Mental Health Ireland?s Communications and Fundraising
Manager, the Communications and Fundraising Officer will support the
delivery of the Communications and Fundraising function and will make
a real contribution to the development of Mental Health Ireland?s
Communications and Fundraising programmes.

You will have a passion for communications, digital marketing, media
strategies and fundraising. You will be organised, creative and have
the ability to work independently with great attention to detail. You
will also have a deep understanding of mental health promotion in
Ireland and how this operates. In addition, the Communications and
Fundraising Officer will possess the skills required to interact with
colleagues and partners on a range of diverse projects in a timely
manner.

The role requires some flexibility with out of office hours
occasionally to attend off site events across Ireland. There is a time
in lieu policy in place to cover this.

THE PERSON

We are looking for a person who wishes to develop their career by
working with a successful organization to deliver and development
Mental Health Ireland?s Communications and Fundraising Strategy. We
want you to build our Public Affairs and Public Relations presence in
order to influence public policy in Mental Health in Ireland.

Your work will involve supporting the delivery of MHI?s Media
Strategies across a wide range of platforms. You will also be involved
in supporting the delivery and management of MHI?s digital marketing
strategies and online presence.

You will also ensure that all fundraising activities are carried out
to the highest legal and ethical standards. In collaboration with the
Communications & Fund Raising Manager, you will develop and maintain
relationships with a wide range of both online and community
fundraisers across many sectors. Your skills will also be utilized in
fundraising database maintenance and management.
