Suas Ireland and Camara Education Ireland: Volunteering & Partnerships Manager

VOLUNTEERING & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

JOB TITLE: Volunteering & Partnerships Manager
SALARY: ?**Apply on the website**,**Apply on the website** per annum
REPORTING TO: Camara Ireland CEO
LOCATION: Dublin
CONTRACT: Full-time

CONTEXT

Suas Ireland and Camara Education Ireland are in the final stages of a
merging process that aims to increase the reach and scope of positive
educational interventions for young people. Following a pilot
programme in late **Apply on the website** that trialled remote
volunteer-led literacy and numeracy support in DEIS schools, there is
an opportunity for the respective and complementary visions of both
organisations to be best achieved by working together. It is
anticipated that this role will be a senior role leading on
volunteering and partnership activities in the newly merged entity.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly merged
organisation with an ambitious strategy for growth, scale and impact.

CAMARA EDUCATION IRELAND

Camara Education Ireland addresses the need for youth learning spaces
to be equipped and resourced so that all young people have equal
access to quality educational opportunity. We develop and deliver
creative technology-based professional development for educators
working with marginalised young people. With increased skills,
knowledge and confidence, educators in our network use technology to
maximise learning outcomes for young people and integrate STEM into
their education practice. We value collaboration and are unique in the
span of our programmes across formal and non-formal education sectors
where TechSpace is one of our flagship programmes. Established in
**Apply on the website**, to date we have supported over 8,**Apply on
the website** educators and 1,**Apply on the website** schools and
youth centres.

SUAS IRELAND

Suas Ireland is part of Suas Educational Development, an ambitious,
education-focused social change organisation that supports programmes
in Ireland, India, Kenya and Zambia. Our vision is a world where all
young people are given the opportunity to realise their full potential
in life and go on to create positive change in their society. We have
two main strands of work: we work with partner schools and
organisations to improve literacy outcomes for children in
disadvantaged communities, and we also seek to increase third-level
students? awareness, understanding and action on a range of
development issues including education.

Suas Ireland works with designated disadvantaged schools across
Ireland to provide intensive support to students who are struggling
with reading and maths. We recruit and train volunteers to deliver
evidence-based interventions to children who need them. In the **Apply
on the website** school year we supported 1,**Apply on the website**
children with the help of over **Apply on the website** trained
volunteers. We are currently piloting online literacy and numeracy
support programmes in response to COVID-**Apply on the website**.

Volunteers are core to the delivery of our programme, and we want to
invest now in the partnerships, processes and activities to allow us
recruit and retain more volunteers in the years to come.

JOB SUMMARY

The Volunteering and Partnerships Manager will drive the creation of a
national network of volunteers to increase supports for disadvantaged
schools. Building the donor relationships and partnerships required to
make this happen is a key part of the role.
They will be responsible for overall volunteer recruitment and
engagement including strategy and partnership development, recruitment
of volunteers through organisational partnerships, development of
training and support for volunteers and the implementation of
effective engagement and retention strategies. They will work with the
Camara Ireland CEO and senior team on funding opportunities and to
ensure effective donor engagement and compliance. The incumbent may
have supervisory responsibilities with the hiring of additional staff
and will report directly to the Camara Ireland CEO.
