ENVAL, ORIGINALLY FORMED AS A SPIN-OUT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL
ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, IS A PRIVATELY FUNDED
COMPANY DEDICATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND COMMERCIALISATION OF
RECYCLING PROCESSES.

WITH AN OFFICE AND RECYCLING PLANT IN ALCONBURY WEALD, ENVAL IS A
SMALL BUT GROWING COMPANY, WHICH REQUIRES AN ADMINISTRATION AND
PERSONAL ASSISTANT WHO CAN MAINTAIN THE OFFICE AND ITS SYSTEMS AS WELL
AS PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE COMPANY DIRECTORS AND THE
OTHER TEAM MEMBERS.

THE ROLE

PART TIME, MINIMUM **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS, OR FULL TIME, TO BE
DECIDED MUTUALLY, THIS ROLE WILL BE PIVOTAL IN ENSURING THE EFFICIENT
ADMINISTRATION AND SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE BUSINESS. THE SUCCESSFUL
CANDIDATE WILL BE INVOLVED WITH THE COORDINATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF
MANY OFFICE PROCEDURES AND ACTIVITIES. THEY WILL HAVE RESPONSIBILITY
FOR ALL ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF THE COMPANY INCLUDING INVOLVEMENT IN
FINANCE, HR, PAYROLL AND MARKETING ADMINISTRATION.

MOST TASKS WILL INVOLVE BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL COMMUNICATION AND WILL
REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF COMPUTER LITERACY, EXCELLENT ORGANISATIONAL
AND PRESENTATION SKILLS, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO MULTI-TASK AND WORK
WELL UNDER PRESSURE.

USING A VARIETY OF SOFTWARE PACKAGES SUCH AS WORD, EXCEL, ETC. TO

RECORDS, SPREADSHEETS AND DATABASES; ASSISTING WITH THE COMPANYS
BOOK-KEEPING, MANAGING AND MAINTAINING BUDGETS, INVOICING; DEVISING
AND MAINTAINING OFFICE SYSTEMS; PROVIDING SUPPORT WITH REGARDS TO
STATUTORY COMPLIANCE IN RELATION TO THE COMPANYS POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES; ASSISTING WITH THE COMPANYS HR REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING JOBS
ADVERTISING, MANAGING PAYROLL AND HOLIDAY RECORDS; BOOKING ROOMS AND
CONFERENCE FACILITIES, TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION, AS WELL AS OVERSEEING
EVENT ATTENDANCE INCLUDING TRADESHOWS AND EXHIBITIONS; ATTENDING
MEETINGS, TAKING MINUTES AND KEEPING NOTES TO BOARD LEVEL; LIAISING
WITH STAFF IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS AND WITH EXTERNAL CONTACTS, PROVIDING
SUPPORT AND HANDLING QUERIES WHERE APPROPRIATE; ORDERING AND
MAINTAINING STATIONERY AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SUPPLIES; SORTING AND

THE PERSON

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL NEED TO HAVE GOOD ALL ROUND EXPERIENCE IN
ADMINISTRATION, ESPECIALLY WITHIN A SMALL COMPANY. YOU WILL NEED TO BE
ADAPTABLE, PROACTIVE, AND INNOVATIVE AS WELL AS BEING AN INDEPENDENT
WORKER.

YOU WILL BE COMFORTABLE WORKING IN AN OFFICE-BASED ENVIRONMENT AND
WILL BE PROFICIENT WITH WORD PROCESSING, LETTER WRITING, DEALING WITH
TELEPHONE AND EMAIL ENQUIRIES, CREATING AND MAINTAINING FILING
SYSTEMS, KEEPING DIARIES, ARRANGING MEETINGS/APPOINTMENTS AND
ORGANISING TRAVEL FOR STAFF. KNOWLEDGE OF WORD, EXCEL AND POWERPOINT
