The Roscommon Project Team was recently established to address the
outstanding recommendations from the _Independent Review, **Apply on
the website** _of the Mental Health Services in Roscommon commissioned
by the HSE. The Mental Health Services of Community Healthcare West
provides a secondary mental health service to adults in Galway Mayo &
Roscommon. Services are primarily community oriented and recovery
focused with multi-disciplinary community mental health teams working
in defined geographical catchment areas. Specialist teams provide a
multi-disciplinary service in Mental Health & Intellectual Disability,
Psychiatry of Later Life and Rehabilitation and Recovery.

Community Healthcare West is partnering with Mental Health Ireland to
recruit a Service User Representative to join the Roscommon Project
Team. This post is guided by the National Framework for Recovery in
Mental Health (**Apply on the website**) and Sharing the Vision

part-time role which will be in place until October **Apply on the
website**. The Service user representative role is primarily concerned
with ensuring the centrality of the service user in the implementation
of the recommendations of the Independent Review.

THE ROLE WILL REQUIRE:

* Strong communication skills
* A knowledge & understanding of recovery frameworks & practice in
developing quality Mental Health Services.
* An ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and advocate on
behalf of service users/family members.

Applicants will have a strong and demonstrable commitment to recovery
informed by lived experience of recovery as either a service
user/family member.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST DEMONSTRATE:

* Lived experience as a service user/family member.
* Knowledge and experience of frameworks and approaches in the
context of mental health recovery.
* Experience of co-production through engagement in local fora,
recovery education, training or conferences in Mental Health.
* Effective interpersonal skills in engaging with service
users/family members, mental health staff and other key stakeholders.

This position is part -time (**Apply on the website** hours) and based
