Job Description
To manage the business development function within Ireland, winning new contracts and repeat contracts from current customers.
Ensure that the marketing and business development strategy is put into place to ensure that the business reaches its business and financial objectives.
Build and maintain the contacts necessary that allow the future development of the business and that effectively promote the reputation of the company throughout the region.
Responsible for building a thorough knowledge (for all disciplines) of the market throughout Ireland, and ensure that this is continually reviewed.
Liaise with the business development management team through a structured monthly meeting, allowing market information to be used in the bid and tendering stage to meet company objectives. Ensure that marketing and advertising proposals are agreed on a monthly basis.
Retain contact with external bodies, including County Councils, Public Authorities, and Private Clients throughout the tendering and bid process.
Ensure that good relations with suppliers and clients are built and maintained in order to achieve favourable opportunities can be maximised for the benefit of the business.
Provide a customer orientated service, which provides a company contact, allowing the highest possible client satisfaction as possible.
Build and maintain effective internal working relationships that allow market information to be used to maximise the financial objectives of the business.
In an autonomous role it is important to maintain regular contact with the Regional Director, providing regular reports on business development progress.
Close working relationships are to be established with the Senior Managers, including Managing Director. This will ensure efficient coordination of the Ireland role.
Ensure close working relationships with external bodies in the development of new contacts and in maintaining a regular company-client interface.
Requirements
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in civil engineering construction projects, with at least 8 years commercial or business development experience.
