COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT (CE) ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR

(MATERNITY COVER)

REPORTING TO: Community Employment Supervisor
LOCATION: Sligo Social Services, Sligo & Sligo Town

ROLE

The role of the CE Assistant Supervisor is to support the development
and management of the CE project and support participants. The CE
project is funded by the Department of Social Protection.

DUTIES

_Specific Responsibilities:_

* The organisation and management of mandatory job related training
for each participant
* To support the CE Supervisor with the Individual Learner Plan and
participant progression in accordance with DSP requirements
* To assist with the recruitment of CE participants in accordance
with Sligo Social Services and the Department of Social Protection
Recruitment Policies and Procedures.
* To maintain and update a database of local employers.
* To advise participants of Training/Employment Vacancies on an
ongoing basis.
* To provide administrative support to the Community Employment
Project

_General Responsibilities:_

* To adhere to Sligo Social Services Policies and Procedures.
* To be familiar with and adhere to the DSP Community Employment
Procedures Manual.
* Ensure files are maintained in accordance with Sligo Social
Services and Department of Social Protection Policies and Procedures
in order to ensure good record keeping practices are in place.
* Responsible for carrying out duties in a professional manner
* To work as a member of a team in order to achieve the objectives
of Sligo Social Services and Community Employment.
* Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* To be flexible and prioritise workload accordingly.
* To allocate and manage time efficiently
* To adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations as per the
organisations Health & Safety Statement and the Safety, Health &
Welfare at work Act **Apply on the website**.
* To attend and participate in Supervision, Department Meetings and
Staff Meeting
* To attend and participate in agreed programmes of training.
* To attend as required all Community Employment related
workshops/programmes of training/seminars/workshops as directed by
DSP.
* Participate in research, analysis and other projects designed to
improve working practices, efficiency and effectiveness.
* To have a flexible approach to work in response to organisational
change, development and review of best practice.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Minimum of 1 year relevant supervisory and people management
experience
* Previous experience in supporting the learning, education and
development of individuals
* Experience of working with a wide range of groups and managing
diverse working relationships.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good IT Skills e.g. Microsoft Office etc.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

* 3rd Level (NFQ Level 6 or higher) in Business/Financial
Administration, Training, Human Resources or a related discipline.
