POSITION SUMMARY:

Sony R&D Center () is a research and development orgnizaiton at
Sony?s Head office with global footprint in Japan, US, Europe and
Asia. Sony R&D Center is seeking a creative individual to join our
newly created R&D team. It?s your chance to make a significant
impact on Sony?s future business, products and services, and to
contribute to Sony?s super high-quality entertainment powerhouse
such as Game, Film, TV and Music.

As a Senior Research Engineer, you will be leading an optical research
team on novel optical display development. You will have a unique
opportunity to collaborate with Sony?s professional creators,
Sony?s research community world-wide, and universities.

We?re inventing the technology and products that inspire creators
and people all over the world, and soon you could be working to bring
your ideas to life!

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics,
Physics or a related field.

*
Strong research background and demonstrated record of innovation in
the area of electromagnetic field simulation and optical design
software.

*
Familiarity with Python or C/C++

*
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

*
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

*
Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion.

*
All candidates can be located anywhere in Europe.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*
Experience and research track record in diffraction optics design and
simulation

*
Experience working with GUI toolkits like GTK/Qt/wxWidgets or
equivalent

*
Experience with OpenGL, graphics, and 3D visualization

*
Familiarity with RCWA theory and coding

*
Familiarity with Matlab for rapid algorithm prototyping.

*
Five or more years of related professional experience
