ONLINE SAFETY PROGRAMME FACILITATOR

Location: Nationwide

THIS IS A CONTRACTOR ROLE, NOT FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT

* It incorporates the delivery of workshops in a variety of locations
nationally as well as online, mainly in school settings, and at
various times.
* Frequency or work will depend on the demand for Barnardos training
from schools per region ? we anticipate trainers could be working a
couple of days per week if available and in areas where school numbers
are highest.
* Barnardos invite trainers to facilitate and deliver training
across all counties.
* Trainers are contracted to deliver Barnardos standardised training
programmes and will receive payment post-delivery of each training
session once invoice is submitted. Trainers will be paid an agreed
daily rate of ?**Apply on the website** for 4x school based
workshops per day or an hourly rate of ?**Apply on the website** for
adhoc workshops, plus expenses as per contract (e.g. Mileage

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Barnardos provides interactive workshops for children and young
people, teachers and parents on internet safety and cyberbullying. The
suite of workshops seek to promote ongoing communication between
children and adults on online safety. In September **Apply on the
website**, with support from Google.org, Barnardos will expand this
programme and aim to provide 4,**Apply on the website** workshops over
the next 5 years, in 1,**Apply on the website** schools, reaching over
**Apply on the website**,**Apply on the website** students.

Barnardos wishes to expand a nationwide panel of appropriately skilled
and qualified trainers to join this panel as contractors, who will
provide quality assured, standardised internet safety and
cyberbullying interactive workshops to children, young people, parents
and teachers and other relevant organisations as required.

These workshops are delivered over the course of a day and may
sometimes entail delivery of some of the workshops outside normal
working hours e.g. early morning or early evening. Flexibility and
ability to work unsocial hours will be required.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

A recognised third level practice qualification ?(minimum Level 7 on
the QQI) in one of the following:

* Drama
* Social Care??????
*
Education????????????????????????????????
* Youth Work
* Early Childhood Care and Education
* Or related discipline (Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, and Early
Years Education)

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of 2 years? post-graduation, experience working with
children and young people, preferably in a school environment
* Minimum of 2 years? experience in training and/ or facilitation
with a variety of audiences on topics such as parenting skills,
personal development, life skills, mental health, sexual health,
offending behaviour, drugs education etc.
* An understanding of the issues relating to internet safety and
cyberbullying within a schools setting is essential
* Up-to-date knowledge of relevant games and social media sites that
are relevant and on trend for young people
* Commitment to delivering standardised, quality assured Internet
Safety and Cyberbullying workshops to children, young people, parents
and teachers that promote best outcomes for children and young people
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Full clean driving licence and access to car

TRAINING AND VALIDATION PROCESS

Applicants will be expected to participate in Barnardos Quality
Assurance Framework processes to become validated as a trainer.?
