ABOUT BEST

BEST is a company limited by guarantee (CLG) and registered charity
and was established in **Apply on the website** as a Ballymun
community response to the significant issue of at-risk and disengaged
young people within the education system. BEST currently receives its
funding from TESS SCP.

BEST has a clear child centred approach as the core of its ethos. The
focus of the work is delivering tailored support to children and young
people in and out of school, at primary and post primary level, who
present with complex needs. These needs stem from multiple factors
impacting the community including; intergenerational trauma, mental
health, drug use, violence, poverty and the resulting experiences of
living in cycles of crisis.

THE ROLE

The Project Manager will under the direction of the Board of Directors
and in line with the funding requirements of TESS SCP, drive the child
centred ethos of BEST. This role has four key areas of focus;

* Strategic assessment of the school and community context in
conjunction with relevant stakeholders to establish the areas of
highest needs and develop appropriate interventions
* Implementation of the child/young person intake framework process
to focus on targeting the most at risk within these contexts.
* Overseeing the development and delivery of best practice models of
intervention in line with the complex need presentation.
* Supported management of the project team in meeting the
multifaceted needs of the target group with specific focus on
supervision, and capacity of the team, as well as supporting skill
development aligned with the evolving needs of the target group. ?

supporting them to develop coping mechanisms and resilience in the
face of adversity and supporting them in their life transitions.?
* Treat children/young people and their families with dignity and
respect, promoting a culture of unconditional positive regard at all
times.
* Ensure the best interests of the young people are central at all
times, being aware of the remit, expertise and limitations of BEST and
the need for onward referrals/signposting to more appropriate
services, where relevant.

* Work within the agreed governance structures and budget, plan for,
organise and facilitate the provision of best practice interventions
and supports for the targeted young people.
* Compile and deliver reporting, administration and forward planning
as required by governance, to ensure compliance and ongoing
sustainability of project; including update to and co-ordination of
monthly Board of Directors meeting, audit requirements, quarterly
financial reporting, annual retention plan co-ordination and
completion, AGM reporting.
* Carry out significant day-to-day team management duties and
administration in a timely and effective way including budget and
finance oversight, recruitment and HR responsibilities, scheduling
etc.
* Implement, review and monitor interventions to evaluate outcomes
for individuals and programme overall.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and assuring
high standards, vigilant of opportunities to improve and extend the
impact within BEST?s purpose and mission.

_EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL SKILLS _

* Demonstrate the ability to empathise with and treat others with
dignity and respect.

* Display effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and
written) skills including skills in mediation, conciliation and

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, ETC

ESSENTIAL

Eligible applicants must possess a relevant third level degree
qualification, e.g., Psychology, Applied Social Care, Social Work,
Education, Youth Work, or an equivalent qualification, AND additional
post graduate qualifications in a relevant field.??????

AND

Candidates must have at least 5 years? experience of working with
children and young people in crisis.

AND

Candidates must have at least 3 years? experience in team leadership
of multidisciplinary teams and/or supervision of others, preferably in
the area of working with young people in crisis.

DESIRABLE

Additional post graduate qualifications in a relevant therapeutic
field such as counselling, art/play creative therapy, child and
adolescent mental health.

Proficiency in IT skills relevant to the role (Microsoft Office,
Zoom/Teams).
