The position will involve the development and implementation of a Cluster Energy Strategy.
This position will also entail the development and implementation of key Automation systems that support the advancement of the Advanced Engineering Group.
The position is a Cluster role with expectations that efficiencies and practices in Energy and Automation are transferred across the company Cluster.
1. Automation Engineering
Support the implementation of the DePuy Automation Strategy across the Cork Site
Identify and manage automation requirements for key development projects for the Manufacturing Engineering Function
Support the standardization of automation practices across the manufacturing Engineering Projects
Ensure commercial alignment between DePuy and its collaborative partners in the delivery of automation solutions to the DePuy Cluster
Support the roll-out and understanding of automation practices within the DePuy
Operations functions
Support the alignment of the DePuy Automation function to MD&D
Support, develop, test and install PLC and control software as part of a highly automated, complex, high volume validated production systems
Develop Functional and Detailed Design Specifications from User Requirement
Develop high quality right first time PLC and HMI code development strategy from
2. Functional and Detailed Design Specifications
Adopt responsibility for the project management of control systems and software based projects across a cross functional multidiscipline team environment.
Participates on and lead projects, provide technical support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection.
Monitor and analyze opportunities for the development of new or improved tools for process improvement activities.
Identify and lead cost and technical improvements as part of the ongoing continuous improvement programs.
Fault-find complex automation equipment
Maintain comprehensive documentation of code to Medical Device standards
Prioritize multiple tasks while working to tight schedules
Is acknowledged as a subject matter expert in a relevant technical field and influences associated site-wide technology planning
Provides guidance to product and technology teams
Implement Company Business Plan Objectives & strive to exceed Business results
Identify capital spend and budget requirements for automation & business Projects
Provide timely and accurate central reporting on Team activities to the project sponsors and senior management.

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree
3/4 years’ experience working with automated control systems
Strong PLC background in Siemens S7, APT, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, Pilz Safety PLCs and HMI software
Accustomed to working in a validated environment with strong discipline with regard to
